You can choose between two main services: Machine Translation Post-Editing, and Traditional Translation, both completed in line with best practices in the translation industry:
Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) services
A popular approach that combines the speed of machine translation with the reassurance of a thorough check by a human editor. It's a halfway house between totally unsupervised computer translation and traditional translation by an expert linguist.
Your text is first translated by computer, then checked and edited by me - a real person - to ensure linguistic and factual accuracy.
The advantage of this approach is greater speed than traditional translation, at a lower price. On the downside, it may not quite match the natural flow of a full human translation.
Traditional (human) translation services
Here, I work on your source text from scratch. As well as conveying the precise meaning of the original, I also ensure that the style and tone of the original are reflected in your translation. You will receive a translation that is fluent, natural sounding, consistent, and tailored to your target reader.
I make use of Computer Aided Translation (CAT) tools. This is not the same as Machine Translation. I make all the linguistic choices, but the software stores the translations away for ease of reference, and re-utilisation when similar sentences occur later in the text. This saves time, increases consistency, and also reduces the cost of the translation to you, with discounts applied to text that repeats.
